An ode to a feeling
You tread through the hall
You walk on the grass
Across the street
A man mows his lawn
And the cold wind blows …
It’s early morn
You gotta go to work
You reach there late
Make up for the quirk
And the cold wind blows …
You get back home
Have to take a break
Sip beer and call
No one seems to be there
And the cold wind blows …
Go watch a movie
Or read a book
Try new junk food
OR learn to cook
But the cold wind blows …
It’s raining outside
And the music plays
Memories deep inside
Stare right in your face
The cold wind’s toll …
Now you say life is cool
And you gotta go on
You can’t be a fool
To clutch to one song
You hear wise words
Let I t go
The stars and the birds
Have seen it before
And the cold wind blows …
You wish to get out
From the maddening crowd
You want to shout
But it’s not allowed
Gotta be a man
Know how to behave
Your words are forlorn
Life is not fair
But who gives a hoot
If you couldn’t take it
Somebody gets shot
Somebody couldn’t make it
And the cold wind is ruthless …
Now you realize
You are all alone
A fact of life
Should have known
Look around you
All empty faces
Masquerading a view
To cover up the cases
And the cold wind hurts …
But that’s OK
‘Cause everything is fair
An action for a cause
Has a reaction to bear
You feel the futility
Gotta learn to wait
Patience and infirmity
Throughout your fate
Look up there
And step right ahead
No faltering feet
Can take you there
The w
As long as it can
Moment’s of weakness
Won’t make you a man
You know you can quit
Go the worldly way
But the way you are made
You just won’t sway
You’ll learn to take it
Till it no longer feels cold
Go out there in the blaze
With no jacket to hold
Because deep down inside
You know within your heart
That autumn doesn’t stay long
It has to depart
And one day the flowers will bloom
On a misty spring morning
No feeling of pain
No feeling of anger
No expectations
No disappointments
A feeling of goodness
Which will last forever
A life full of bliss
And no word called ‘Never’
Because somebody up there
You don’t know when
Said the magic word
‘A M E N ! ! ! ! ! ‘
And the cold wind doesn’t hurt anymore …
